The Japanese blog Macotakara, quoting a Nikkei Business article, has suggested releases of both of the highly-anticipated models are likely next year, reported 9to5 Mac.
Should the iPhone 5 be brought to the market, it is believed it will offer a 4G connection.
Apple may be planning to continue its tradition of leaving approximately a year between releases of iPhones, with the 4S model hitting the shelves two months ago, possibly making a further launch next autumn a likely option.
The news source noted that there were rumours of an imminent release, but Apple has downplayed these due to some concerns over the mobile's power consumption.
